Film/TV/Other: Carousel (NY Philharmonic/PBS), Six by Sondheim (HBO), So You Think You Can Dance, West Side Story (San Francisco Symphony), Hairspray, Dreamgirls, Chicago, and Nine. Mr. Binder was also the New York casting director for Warner Brothers Television for 5 years. Among the many television shows he cast was the Emmy Award winning I’ll Fly Away. He is a ten–time Artios Award winner. Mr. Binder has had the honor of working with Darko Tresnjak Casey Nicholaw, Warren Carlyle, John Doyle, John Rando, Nicky Martin, Jack O’Brian, David Grindley, Jerome Robbins, Neil Simon, David Mamet, David Ives, Stephen Sondheim, Tommy Tune, Michael Blakemore, Twyla Tharp, Rob Marshall, Kathleen Marshall, Julie Taymor, Edward Albee, Dan Sullivan, Gene Sacks, Joe Mantello, Gary Hynes, Susan Stroman, Doug Hughes, Michael Mayer, Graciela Daniele, John Doyle, Howard Davies, Anthony Page, Jerry Zaks, James Lapine, among many others. In addition, he has been an artistic consultant for Disney World and National Artists Management Company, the producers of Chicago. He served as a visiting adjunct professor at SUNY Purchase, and attended Boston Conservatory of Music prior to coming to NYC. He was also an associate producer for the Broadway revivals of Finian’s Rainbow, The Sound of Music, Sweet Charity, and The Odd Couple.
