Bio

Jeff Frez-Albrecht has been a recordist and audio engineer for more than 30 years, and has contributed his talents to dozens of Emmy, Peabody, and Academy Award winning films. His previous work includes producing and mixing soundtracks for several episodes of “American Experience”, “American Masters”, “Nova”, HBO’s “Sports of the 20th Century”, and ESPN’s “SEC Storied” series, as well as the BBC America/Barry Levinson series “Copper”.  With composer Brian Keane, he has worked with the likes of director Ric Burns, Thomas Lennon, the aforementioned Barry Levinson, and many others.

While keeping his hand firmly in music production, Jeff also has provided complete post audio packages (dialog editing, sound design, sound effects, Foley, and mixing, with occasional music supervision) for several independent theatrical releases, most recently “To Hell And Back: The Kane Hodder Story”, produced by Masterfully Macabre and directed by Derek Dennis Herbert, which, after garnering positive reviews on the festival and convention circuit, will enjoy a limited theatrical run in the Los Angeles area, followed by nation-wide release on Blu-Ray and VOD in July of 2018.

Additionally, while pursuing a successful career behind the scenes, Jeff has recently gained some notoriety as a voice-over talent, providing critically acclaimed narration for several episodes of ESPN’s “SEC Storied”, as well a a handful of independent documentaries, including IMG’s “Slim Aarons: The Good Life”.

Jeff lives in Northwestern Connecticut with his wife and six cats.
